An implementation that works on the day it ships is a different thing from one that is still believed two years later. Sites get redesigned, people move on, and a variable stops populating while the reports carry on drawing a confident line.

This phase is the work that prevents that. Writing down what should be collected before anybody builds it. Proving the data actually arrives as intended. And understanding where the platform is heading next, so today's decisions still make sense when it gets there. It is the least visible part of the job, and it decides whether anyone trusts your numbers.
